Starting Q2013D by clicking

on qw.exe icon works fine. Clicking on data file "(MK.qdf) starts a reinstallation of Q. Didn't used to be this way.

No big deal, but does anyone have any idea what is going on.

Thanks, Marvin

Probably the qdf application association is wrong. Fixing it depends in detail on the version of windows. On Windows 7, right click, then click on Open with, find the quicken application and leave the set as default checked.

Thanks, its not really an issue here, but it dawns on me that I had a lot of installation failures with QD2013 in WIN7, 64 bit, and got it to "work" by doing a lot of "taking ownerships" of this or that directory in the process. After a while, I gave up with this nonsense and decided to see if, in fact, it would run.

It runs, but as my post seems to indicate, Q is "confused" ands gives different results depending on how you start it.

On a side, but related issue, after many hours on the phone with TurboTax tech support, I still can't get it to install. Google searches indicate that these are widespread problems with both TT and Q that Intuit can not or has not been able to fix.
