Stealth Update?

Strange.... I received an update for QW2005 this morning, but the release number stayed at R3.

Ditto. I saw an announcement in one of the windows that I should click on "Quicken Services" when I run Quicken. I did...and I can't tell what they updated.

Nothing on this end.

Here's a question - since the stealth update, has anyone tried creating a

*new* scheduled transaction? I tried yesterday only to discover that feature has stopped working, but only for new transactions. I can create the scheduled transaction, but it doesn't actually get entered (auto update or remind me). Quicken support's solution: remove & reinstall.

Using Quicken Deluxe 2005 (R3), I was able to create a new scheduled transaction without difficulty.

Have you applied the recent non-update that Intuit put out earlier this week? Also, I am able to create scheduled transactions, but they will not recur. I had created recurring scheduled transactions as recently as a week or two ago, so the recent update seems to be the most likely reason for this feature being broken. It's not the file - I have the same problem with a new data file.

I haven't manually applied any updates, but I connect with the Quicken server just about every day, so if an automatic update was to be downloaded, I'm fairly sure that I'd have gotten it shortly after its release.

While some have received the mystery update, others haven't.

Does *anyone* know what it might be about? Possibly something to do with whatever OS is running?

I think you'd know. When I opened q2005, the first thing that happened was a window popup asking whether I wanted to install the update now. I installed and can't see any difference. Scheduled trans are working ok.

Only do checkbook stuff. Can't figure out how to keep Principal Fin Group

401(k) accurate and updated.

It did it to me on a PC I haven't used for a while. It said it was updating financial institutions, and it looked like that's all it did.

I have remove & reinstalled Quicken - the problem still exists. The odd thing is it does not affect existing scheduled transactions, only new ones. When I create a new scheduled transaction it looks fine - I've got the option to edit & delete it as expected, and it shows 'Auto'. However, once I exit & re-enter Quicken, these options are gone. A completely new data file has the same problem (one account, one transaction).

One evening last week when I opened up Q2005, I was prompted if I wanted to install the new update. The Help ABout still showed R3 when the update was done. There was no indication that anything had changed from what I can see.

Have you tried asking your question in the Quicken forums:

Hi Mike B. Your link points to the Windows support forum, which follows off the general forums page for various Intuit products...same place, different door:)

The liveworld.com address gives problems. Quickenforum.com gives better results. It is a bug somewhere on an Intuit page that still points to liveworld.com, but it won't maintain signon etc.

So THAT's what was going on yesterday! My apologies...your link is the prefered one, until they sort themselves out.
