Another Q05 Stealth Update?

This morning, 08/04/05, my Quicken 2005 Premier prompted me for a program update. After accepting it, I checked the version number and it still shows R03. I can't find anything on Intuit's home page or on their "User Group" about this. I remember that some people were able to figure out what was changed during the last (couple of?) stealth updates, but I can't find out how. Anyone know what was changed?

Yesterday, Q asked me, upon startup, if I wished to change my file's password, or reminding me to do it, or something to that ilk. Wow! I can't remember *that* happening before. Maybe it did 6 months ago or so and I don't remember it?

My heart is in my mouth when I start Q and something out of the ordinary happens. "There goes my financial life" runs thru my mind.

A CIA agent came to my door this morning, suggesting that I might be up to no good because I had accepted a download from Intuit which was not specifically identified. Said agent worried that I might be infected, or might be unwittingly infecting others, by accepting such a potentially invasive unknown download ... he caused me to remember my 90 year old father asking me if a computer "virus" was actually a real virus (like the swine flu, ya' know). The CIA agent said he'd be around again anytime he noticed me accepting any unidentified download.

That is real scary. Thanks for making us all aware of this. Hope you reported this to Intuit.

Is there a way to prevent these un-authorized intrusions?

I had the same experience - noticed an "updating program" during the Daily Update. Also noted a banner on the bottom of the screen offering $10 off Q06... my guess is that was the download content, now that 06 is available.
