I know this is off topic but I do not know where else to ask.
I started my taxes on TT deluxe and I've reached the page where it asks me about editing my interest and dividents without asking me to download them from the brokerage.
Does TT no longer download directly from a broker? If yes, where did I miss it?

Sorry to have bothered you guys. No sooner asked than I found the answer.
I do not recall being asked in the questionnaire (like previous years) if I wished to import from a financial institution but - in case someone else needs to know - I discovered online that the ability exists at
File/Import/ etc.

If you only have simple Interest and Divs 1099 - int/div - then ok... Since you mentioned "brokerage" if you have any stocks sold, be aware there is now a "cost basis" form and entry.
BTW - one year, I did the Import from Quicken, but didn't like the logistics as it locked the data, and didn't put it into the fields like I thought it would... so... I've always done it manually, so I know what gets entered, from which 1099, and why/how it was generated.

Over the years I think there have been many improvements to importing. I would give it a try on a dummy return just to get a feel for it to see if maybe it now does what you need. The only problem I have is my Quicken accounts don't align one-to-one with the 1099 forms so I have to make a couple of edits.

just tried - will post another thread - TTax 2011 will only import from Q2012, 2011, and 2010 - NOT 2009 - which is what I'm still running
