Turn Off Drop Down Menu

I can't turn off the Drop Down Menus in the Register. I went to the QuickFill Register Preferences, but unchecking the drop down menu has no affect. The program works the same with that box checked or unchecked. I can uncheck the box about sutomatically completing entries and that stops all autocomplete functions including the drop down menus. But I want the autocomplete, but not the drop downs all the time. Has anyone else dealt with this. I tried the email Quicken Customer Service, but they just sent me to the corrupted data link. My data isn't corrupted. Thanks for any help you can give. I'm using Quicken 2005 Deluxe on Windows XP Home Edition Mahlen
