unlinking checking account -> Q2004 crashes

I have a brokage account that I had setup with a linked checking account that was really a money market account. The broakage house didn't support Quicken, and I did everything manually. Now they have Quicken download, and I've setup the account for online access which has the MMKT under the account vs having a linked checking account. HOWEVER - I can't seem to delete the old linked checking account. I can click on the account setup and move from YES to NO for linked account, but then - when I click OK - Quicken 2004 blows up with an error... So... I guess I'll just delete the entire account and let it rebuild it totally, and manually setup the original buy....

BTW - as a followup - after the error - Quicken 2004 would not restart. I actually restarted the WinXP laptop - and Q2004 would blink the logo, but not start. I found that if I changed the WinXP user from Limited to Admin, that Q2004 would start, and then if I changed the user back to Limited, that Q2004 was ok....as before. So - this crash really screwed up something that Q2004 wanted to access, and needed the Admin set of previliges to get back together...

followup #2 - it appears that Quicken 2004 writes to the /program/ file sub-dir - here are the 3 files that seem to be accessed... This file was the one that must have been screwed up, as it was re-written by the admin account - QREQST_VS7.dat -

-- Browse to the program folder where the Quicken program is installed. Find 3 files: QW.RMD, QW.CFG and QREQST_VS7.dat. Check Properties on these files. Choose Security, then Add... Finance. Ensure Finance has "Modify" permission Allowed. Click Apply, and then OK
