Vanguard - OL-220-A - again?

Is it just me, or are we still having the Vanguard d/l problems? Last time Vanguard updated successfully for me was on 10/10.

Guess I am among the chosen ones that are actually down loading find this week. I have had no problems since the last round a couple weeks ago.

I was on the phone with Vanguard/Quicken support yesterday. They are continuing to have issues with their brokerage accounts (not mutual fund accounts as I mentioned about a month ago).

It has to do with the accounts continuing to be associated with their old Pershing account numbers (how many years ago was that? Like 10??? ) and fixes continue to be made daily to try to get this to work correctly. In fact, it was just two days ago that one can no longer view the old Pershing account numbers of your account overview screen which makes the association of the 'old' account numbers to the 'new' account numbers problematical.

I'll continue to monitor with them.

Brokerage accounts may be at the heart of the problem; but I can tell you that there is also a problem with non-brokerage accounts. To what extent the problems are related, I can't say: but I have only mutual fund accounts at Vanguard, and I am still getting occasional download failures.

Finally got all my down load working again. I have two sets of Vanguard accounts all are IRA. My spouse' and my own (with active brokerage account) for almost a month neither worked then a few days go my account resumed getting downloads (after I reactivated the accounts), but the spouse' account did not.

Fiddled with some setting to no avail but (red face here!) when I tried to active her account kept getting warnings about closing brokerage account. Finally hit me that I had hidden these unused accounts in Quicken (Version 2011 H & B) when deleted these accounts downloads took off for her account so I am all set again with Vanguard.

This may be source of continuing problems others are having.

Appears to be okay as well with my brokerage accounts AFTER establishing them via the old Pershing account IDs presented to me with a DEACTIVATE/ACTIVATE scenario. Now I just hope Vanguard won't break this again....but since they're using 'old' Pershing numbers, I assume

*something* will change (again) in the future.

Hasn't worked for me on at least 3 different days (including just now) since 10/12/. Every time I do an update, the OSU dialog box says it's doing an error recovery. Maybe it would help to somehow be able to tell it to "start fresh". But, if so, how?

---------------------------------------------------------------

This isn't a Quicken problem; it's a Vanguard problem.

Nothing you do in Quicken can fix, or overcome, the problem. And attempts to alter your setup in Quicken, may ultimately interfere with successful downloads when Vanguard gets the problem fixed.

Until that time, I think your best bet is to go to Vanguard's web site and download your transactions from there.

Which is what I ended up doing last evening, which worked like a charm. Thanks for the info that it remains a Vanguard issue.

Well, I 'fixed' it from my Q end by disassociating ALL of my Vanguard accounts and readding them from OSU by understanding that the accounts 'found' at Vanguard are using (as I said) the Pershing numbers for brokerage accounts. That worked for me; I don't need to go to the Vanguard website to do this manually.

And I did state when Vanguard 'fixes' the problem, I may end up going back through the same process if their internal account numbers change. But that's NOT a big deal. Personally Jim, I'd try to do this from Q end now and not wait.

Found this last night.

That is, as I had said, worked for me as well. So Jim, did you try that? I've been fine for several weeks using the old Pershing #s.
