What version of Money

Hello,

Currently I am using MS Money Plus for Home and Business. Recently Microsoft announce they will not release any more update for this software in the future. I just worry about next time I need to reinstall Money. So I just want to migrate now. So which version should I switch over? Deluxe, Premier or Home and Business. Any help I really appreciate. Thank.

Without much more information, I would migrate to the Quicken Home or Business. Depending how much history you have, I am not certain what Quicken version you should migrate to (I always run current versions, so

2009 for me). Intuit is working with Microsoft to aid in the conversion effort - the Quicken product will not be released until August or later. You might wish to wait until that time to make a decision for the version.

One thing to consider, you Money Software will still work for many years. I would consider - not converting at all. Finish this year in using Money and then start a clean Quicken database (basically from scratch) in January 2010. In January 2010 Money will become your history file and disable all downloads. Run lots of reports from Money and place them in a safe place.

. As previously suggested, I'd wait until they get a reliable version of the Money-to-Quicken conversion process working.

I think I'm waiting too. It's already announced they are working on that total coversion. I tried everal open source versions, but can't get any of them to convert my data properly. GNU cash I exported my checking account and it came in at 400,000 in the bank. Ahhhhhhhhhh. If that were only true.

As things stand now, there is one serious problem with attempting to stick with Money for too long: the newer versions of Money require something called "Activation" whenever they are installed. Activation will not be be available for Money after sometime in 2011; so if anyone bought a new computer, or had to replace their hard drive, or had to reinstall for whatever reason ... they would be out of luck: Money wouldn't work.

It could be worse. I tried mine and it came in at around 400,000 too.

-400,000 that is...
