Penfed Credit Card

Jun 13, 2009 3 Replies

I am attempting to connect via one step update to my Pentagon Federal Credit Union credit card.

Webconnect from the Penfed website works by downloading a qfx file.

However, if I try to do a direct connect by going to one step update, Pentagon Federal Credit Union shows up as "available for one step update". When I select "activate for one step update," it goes through a connection to Penfed and asks for password, etc. It then shows two accounts, my savings and my credit card. I match those to the existing accounts in Quicken.

However, when I later update using one step update, only thing that will update is the savings account and not the credit card.

Am I doing something wrong in setting this up or do others have similar problems with Penfed?

Thanks.

Jeff

Does the One Step Update summary indicate any problems with the Penfed download?

Does the Change Online Services button on the Overview tab of the credit card account indicate that the account is "connected via Express Web Connect"?

Do you have transactions in the actual credit card account that are more than 24 hours old, that have not already been downloaded?

Express Web Connect only refreshes data (gets new data) once every 24 hours.

[Some credit card issuers only offer transactions that have appeared on statements. Though I realize you would already know that ... sometimes we can forget, so I think it's better to suggest the obvious, rather than assume.]

John:

Thanks for your reply. Here are answers to your questions:

"Does the One Step Update summary indicate any problems with the Penfed download?"

No. It states that two accounts were downloaded (savings and credit card). Although I do notice that the one step update summary that displays after the update lists all of the various accounts that were updated and all of them are shown in blue while the Penfed listing is black.

"Does the Change Online Services button on the Overview tab of the credit card account indicate that the account is "connected via Express Web Connect"?

Yes. Is this the problem? Does this indicate that only web connect is available?

"Do you have transactions in the actual credit card account that are more than 24 hours old, that have not already been downloaded?"

Yes. Confirmed on their website for download.

Thanks again for taking the time to answer my questions and for any help you can provide.

Regards, Jeff

I think the text being in black indicates that the account download was done via Express Web Connect (as opposed to Direct Connect).

No. To the best of my knowledge, it indicates that Quicken believes that the account can be successfully downloaded via Express Web Connect.

I'm sorry, but after reading your answers, I don't think I have any insights into your problem.

I would call your financial institution ... but I wouldn't expect any meaningful results. At least ask them to give you contact with a Quicken knowlegeable person.
