Zero Quantity Equity Problem

Jan 08, 2007 1 Replies

On many option trades I have had to intervene with hand repairs to the Quicken results. Now I have a problem with an equity. I have made several long and short trades on Frontline Ltd on my Scottrade account. At present I have no open trades and no shares of Frontline. Yet Quicken shows Frontline in the summary with 0 shares!! I can't seem to get rid of it. BTW I'm using 2007 home and business. I download transactions to all accounts almost daily.

Thanks for any help.

Well, it either is really zero or not. If so, you can elect to hide the security. If not really zero (Quicken does - and keeps - calculations in far greater precision than shown,so ther may be 0.00001 or some such amount) you might want to do an Adjust Share Balance transaction or a Sell transaction making sure you check off the box "Sell all shares in this account" (having specified the desired security, of course).
