Aaagh! No international payments online ANYWHERE??

May 06, 2004 4 Replies

I make a lot of international payments. I actually have to go to my NatWest branch to do this, and fill out forms by hand. In 2004. Can't keep wasting time like that.

So if ANYBODY knows of a bank where you can make international payments online, PLEASE post a note here on the group... THANKS :) :)

Paypal? Not ideal, not free, but just a suggestion.

Not online but on the telephone, we use Rusche International who will issue us with a draft on request over the phone in exchange for a cheque. The draft costs GBP 5.00 and the rate we get is better than LLoyds TSB. The whole business is very effective takes less than a minute, they store all your details of your regular recipients, on first name terms with the nice man in Canary Warfe (Ben !).

They do electronic transfers also but that costs extra and takes longer since the cheque we issue has to be cleared before they will initiate the transfer.

I believe Travelex do an online international payment service.

I regularly use HSBC Offshore in Jersey to do international transfers via their internet banking service.

Not online but - I signed a mandate with HSBC to accept faxed forms from me for my business account a few years ago.
