Admiral Motor Insurance

Oct 02, 2009 2 Replies

My insurance renewal date is approaching, and I'm looking at alternatives to my current insurer.

Admiral seem to be offering quite a good deal - particularly if I insure my wife's car with them as well.

Do any of you have any experience of Admiral - what they're like to deal, particularly if you need to claim, etc.?

I can't quite pin down who would *actually* underwrite the insurance. It seems that Admiral use a syndicate of insurers who share the risk (but

*don't* cover each other if any of then defaults). Can anyone throw any light on this - and on any particular implications which this approach may have.

TIA.

Use a broker. They will search many insurance companies for you. Better still use several brokers.

You would also be striking a blow in favour of keeping executive salaries down.

My insurance isn't due until March and I generally wouldn't consider them, but I intend getting a quote at least next time.
