Another sort of legal finance question

Here is a scanareo:

I get a loan from a 3rd Party other than my bank. This is for debt consolidation purposes. The loan is for 3000. I go to the bank and pay 3 bills using the gyro slips from the bottom of my bill, with the cheque that I have been provided by the 3rd party. I have 700 left over which i pay that cheque into my bank. The cheque clears my account. The other 3 bill never get payed, I contact my bank, sorry we don`t know what happened, I contact the people who`s bills i`ve payed, Sorry never Recived, I speak to the third party who tell me itll cost me to cancel the cheques and get new one done, if they can because really its not there problem.

Where would one stand legally? Suppose one couldn`t afford to pay for all the loans till it sorted out? and one didn`t want to pay for money he never recived?

Anybody comment?

Cheers MCN

The loan compnay if they issued the cheque can check to see if they are cashed.

Your bank can trace the payment you made using the giro slips
