Can anyone tell me where to find out which banks are covered by the same licence? I want to know if B&B and Alliance and Leicester are covered together or separately for FSCS purposes.

This is not directly answering your question, but Santander put out a notice on the A&L website explaining that each of their banks is a separate concern.

Look up their FSA registration numbers.
In the Santander Group:
Abbey, Bradford & Bingley and Cahoot share the same Abbey licence Alliance & Leicester and Cater Allen have separate licences.
