back dated bank statements

I just wonder if I could in theory ask my bank (BOS) for copies of all my monthly bank statements (over 100 of them) on my current account right back to the beginning? Is this possible?

Yes,

But you may have to pay a small charge for it.

I had to ask my bank (Barclays) once to send me all statements ( going back to 7 years) and they did that. They did not charge me for it.

Probably becasue I do not have too much in my account!!! LOL

You may be able to use the Data Protection legislation to limit the charge to 10, IIRC.

It used to be very high because copy statements had to be manually typed (and they could have no corrections so one mistake and it was start again). Of couse they're not done like that now, but it wouldn't suprise me if, in real terms, the fee is about the same.

My bank lists this in their list of bank charges. They send the list to me every time it changes. I can't put my hands on it this minute, but I seem to remember it was 2.50 per sheet last time.

As Doug said I have heard of people requesting all the information held on them by the bank under the data protection act. If this includes all the statements you need then it would be quite a bargain.
