Bizzarre or what? Barclays run by zombies?

So follow their complaints procedure and then go to the ombudsman if you're still not satisfied. Then there's trading standards & Watchdog. If you don't want to do that, then either it can't have been that important to start with or you haven't got a case. Just get on with your life.

I don't know why i am going to the trouble to explain something to someone who can't follow the posts in a newsgroup, perhaps you blame your newsreader or ISP.

1) It is OP, Tumbleweed who has a daughter with the card problem.

2) I did not recommend writing cheques for 0.20, this was a post from Kermit. I considered taking 5's out of a cash machine not belonging to Barclays in one transaction.

going to affect barclays at all. You will make the girls/guys who handle the cheques that bit harder, but you wont affect barclays at all. And at the end of the day they are just doing their job, and you are making their life that small bit more miserable. if that makes you feel better, then bully for you.>Are you also the sort of guy who shouts at the conductor if a train breaks down, as if he sabotaged it or something?

I will blame neither the newsreader or the ISP, just my lack of attention, Profuse apologies sent your way.

part of my point still stands though. with a billion pound organisation, is someone taking fiver's and tenners from an ATM really going to make a difference, will anyone even notice? I doubt it. You might get personal satisfaction from it, but the bank will not flutter its eyelids.

Its like people who drop litter because if they didn't bin men might be out of a job. rather than thinking that the council could redeploy these people into other worthwhile activities. If all disgruntled customers write small cheques to annoy the bank, the bank may need to redeploy some front line staff to help the cheque folks, which in turn lowers the customer service, which creates more disgruntled customers, and the the circle continues.
