I have 2 contents policies on my property, the standard and the one for items taken out of the house, camera, laptop etc. I renewed the policy in May and got a confirmation of renewal slip from the company's local office. The dosey company have appeared to have lost the cheque as it has never been presented and the policies have lapsed. I have twice called them to rectify this. I think part of the problem is that I sent them a business cheque and they can't reconsile the cheque against me although I have given them details. How come in this day and age companies still act as though they are complete brainless idiots. What can I do, apart from insuring with somebody else to ensure I am not completely stuffed should I be burgled or the house burns down.
