discrete bank account

A friend of mine wants to open a discrete bank account (no mail or statements arriving at home etc). Basically, she is living with someone (not married), they are having a few issues, and she is concerned about said person going through mail, maybe taking bank details, etc, etc.

I don't know of anything like that, but thought someone on here might?

Cheers

Tell her current bank that she is moving to your address !! (that's what friends are for)

Yeah, thought about that, but she wants a new account rather than changing the old account.. Might have to suggest that though.

Online banking? Statements come by email.

Thought of that, but don't they need to post the forms first for her to fill in? Or can it all be done online these days?

If she started a new account at your address wouldn't she need a recent bill with her name at your address? Or woudl they allow it if she said she was just moving house?

What did her current Bank answer to this question?

There are legal requirements which Banks have to abide by in connection with advising their customers about certain changes. They have to do this by post. The BOS does it by adding a note to their statements which they send to you by post even if you have opted for online statements.
