Holiday Insurance

I don't know if this is the right group to ask (but then again banks offer it), but I will be going to the USA with the family soon and wondered if anyone knew any good deals for travel insurance?

Thanks,

Roland.

Like any insurance, premiums depend upon circumstances, but I found insure & go good value for just me & the mrs.

I bought an annual multi trip policy with Go Travel Insurance.

Unfortunately we were robbed at gunpoint whilst on holiday, so I put through a claim in early May with Go. It turns out the insurance is underwritten by Van Ameyde & Wallis ltd.

My experience with Van Ameyde & Wallis ltd has been that it takes them roughly about a month to reply to any query that you have, and about half a year to process your claim.

It has now been partially settled, but I'm still writing letters to them.

In short I would not recommend any insurance policy underwritten by Van Ameyde & Wallis ltd.

Next time around I think I'll buy a policy through a 'proper' company like BUPA and rather pay the higher premium.

We've always found

have offered the best benefits/premium.

Admittedly we've never had to make a claim, so can't comment on how they'd be in that unfortunate circumstance.

Thanks,

Might go with Debehams who cames tops in a 500 insurer survey.

Roland.
