How are delinquencies reported to credit agencies?

Around 8 months ago I setup a mobile phone contract for a friend of mine. Due to poor credit rating she was unable to set one up herself.Once the contract was setup she contacted O2 and transferred the name on the account over to herself.

Not surprisingly she as got herself into a situation where she's unable to pay her phone bills, and the phone is about to be disconnected. (I know! I've learnt my lesson...)

My question: How will O2 report the delinquency? Will it be in the name of 'current' account holder or will my name also be reported??

I'm considering paying the bill myself to protect my own credit.

Thanks, Anna

I can't understand this, as the friend would need to be credit checked if the account were to be transferred. If the first check failed i doubt she would pass a second check by the same firm. Anyway, why did she not simply get a pay as you go phone? If you pay the bill yourself she will just run another bill up, which will not help either of you.
