All that does it take the balance from the other card and put it onto your new one I usually leave it black and then call up and do it laer if I wnat that option.

They will do a credit check on you which will tell them what other debts you have before they give you the card.

A lot of people have multiple credit cards so I do not think it will matter than much (i.e I am only 21 but in total I ahve had cards from about 7 different companies (not all at the same time - but I have 4 running at the moment)

Do you want to transfer the balance? If so, fill it in. If not, leave it blank. I don't think it matters too much unless you've historically been a major rate tart; even then it may not matter depending on the lender.

I filled it in last week and was accepted. I don't think it makes much difference to the outcome of your application as other checks will be done.

I recently applied online for a 0% natwest card, (as it seems to be one of the few that do not appear to charge a 2% transfer fee), and I got this screen insisting that I can only do a 0% BT *at the time of application*. The t&c said nothing to this effect so I left the BT bit blank, as it seems mad to insist on a BT *before* they have even announced what my credit limit is!
