I recently decided to pay a credit card statement with cash. On this occasion had the time, and the statement document in my pocket so decided to give it a go.
As the receiving bank was HSBC I decided to go into an HSBC Branch, duly handed over the giro credit slip and 60 cash, I was informed there was 5 handling charge!! Don't bother thank you!
I then went down the road to a Lloyds TSB Branch, again handed over the giro credit slip and 60 cash, no handling charge was requested. "Thank you very much Mr. xxxx" was the polite response.
Top marks for Lloyds TSB, a black mark for HSBC (was never too happy with a Hong Kong bank anyway).
