IFA who specialises in dealing with endowment policies?

I'm looking for an IFA who specialises in dealing with endowment policies:

I've gone through the misselling process with Halifax, and they have paid me compensation... In the final letter they also offered to pay an IFA's fee for me to get advice on what to do with 2 Pru policies and a Standard Life policy I've got (yes - how on earth did I end up with them? Basically I was young and innocent). The policies have each got about 5 years to run. (I've been saving in an offset mortgage account & if I sell them now I can clear the mortgage).

From following this newsgroup's excellent posts I'm pretty convinced I should sell them, but am thinking - "why not get the opinion of an IFA - especially if someone else will pay for it?"

Trouble has been finding an IFA who seems to know owt about this! The couple of local ones I've phoned up have told me things like "I dont use the internet much" and "maybe you'd get a better return by keeping the mortgage and investing your money each month" Needless to say, after following this group for a while this is not what I really expected to hear so my question is:

Can anyone point me in the direction of an IFA who really knows about selling endowment policies, and is not afraid to use the internet?

Ta... John

You're lucky,

I'm looking, 58 now coming up to retirement, (after 4 years and 3 IFA's of looking) for an IFA who gets back to you in less than 14 weeks (total fund about 400k). and who doesn't say at 10 weeks "we've got all the stuff we need and we'll be back to you "RSN".

:)

And then says at 14 weeks, we're just waiting for Axa ...

We don't have any policies with AXA, certainly none that we have notified *Them* of. Nor any sundry unascribed policies, even by companies that "AXA" could have bought over, even any "free" ones that came with corn flakes or insured car keys or whatever. I mean *WTF* is this to do with half a million of pension business.

What a *Crock* of Government Mandated unmitigated *Shite* the "Financial Services Industry" is.
