It's been over six months since Index-linked Savings Certificates went off general sale. Find out why they were withdrawn:

They appear t osay that if you already hold them then yo ucan renew when they mature. Indeed it suggests that if you have fixed rate certificates maturing you can continue thise as index linked if you wish. that's a valuable option.

Q. What happens with Inflation-Beating Savings/Fixed Interest Savings Certificates maturities?

A. You will receive a maturity letter 10 days prior to your Certificates maturing. This letter explains all the options open to you. If you are happy to continue with your Certificate for a further term of the same length, at the rate quoted in your letter, then you don?t need to do anything. You can also reinvest maturing funds into a different term, either 3 or 5-year for Inflation-Beating Savings, or either 2 or 5-year for Fixed Interest Savings Certificates, or cash in your Certificate without penalty.
