Works for me. Logging on and setting up the a/c is slightly arcane, but the rest seems OK.

/me very happy with his ING account

Ditto apart from the fact their letter this morning advising me of their new CS number was open (not sealed in the first place as opposed to someone opening it) leaving anyone free to look at my customer number/account number - not best pleased about that one....

Hmm - that's an interesting comment to make because when my letter arrived this morning the envelope had a tear down one edge about the width of a credit card and if you pursed the envelope slightly you could almost make out the account number, etc on the little plasticky thing stuck to the letter.

Mine was definitely *not* deliberately opened - in my case the gum on the envelope flap was unused - licking it confirmed that it did work but nobody had bothered to use it in the first place - so in my case it was incompetence rather than any deliberate attempt at fraud. It has however made me more alert to these things and I will watch with interest the state my INGDirect statement arrives in later this month....

Got one of these similar letters this morning and it was absolutely fine. No complaints about ING here, they seem pretty good.

I haven't received one at all. Is this more, or less, worrying?

money can only flow out of ING into named accounts so I assume this is a fairly safe, unfraudable system. If there were to be a breach, it would presumably be benign.

This is a good point and indeed was one I only thought of *after* posting my worries.

Those pesky money-laundering checks again, eh? Better keep a torch by the bed for that 3:00am wakeup call...

:-)

OK.

They don't list gross and net interest on statements -- just net.
