I have some money in Abbey National - the interest rate has gone down twice in last few months - I was not informed - I have only just found out.
Is it sufficient that they post the new rates on their web-site rather than informing each customer?
If so, do you know where this is defined.
It'll be in their Terms and Conditions. Many institutions change their T&Cs every so often and will send you a copy of the new ones when this happens. It's entirely possible that one such change they may have introduced recently is that they will no longer write to everyone each time there is a rate change, but just publish changes in the press and on their website.
