Is it worth starting a with profits policy with the Pru?

My 15 year policy matured a few years back and even then the news about 'orphan funds' was been talked about.
I wrote to the Pru at the time asking if policy holders such as myself - who
had paid in for 15 years would get anything and at the time they had not decided what was happeneing.
Fast forward to today - and the subject still appears up in the air.
Is it worth starting another policy to be in the rinning for any potential share out?
Would the fact that I paid in for 15 years have any bearing on any future share out?
