I use 10,000 letterheads each year and about the same number of promotional leaflets which are sent out to customers.One printer tells me that there is Vat on the letter headings but NOT on the leaflets. Anyone know if this is true?

Yes it is true.
My information is very old, but we used to print A4 leaflets (single sided) with an application form for our local music society. We were told by the printer that if the form occupied more than 25% of the area we had to pay VAT, otherwise not.
