Is it my imagination or has the level of unacceptable postings increased by a lot recently? This NG is going to be full of advertising if something is not done about. Some is OK, but not the level we're getting.

It's not your imagination, things are getting a lot worse.
Interesting, my ISP stopped my free usenet access a month or so ago, so I've been using Google Groups and wasn't sure if it was just Google. It's becoming unusable.
Based upon my experience of a few years ago, I'd recommend
formatting link
as they suppressed almost all spam. They are a popular choice amongst the UK usenet community and they speak English, so there's no language problem.
