MBNA 0% balance transfers - BEWARE !!!!

Credit card companies do send out letters advising changes to T&C. I guess most people bin them unread.

-------------------------------------------------

You mean the companies periodically send out a complete new set of T&Cs and invite their customers to play a game of "spot the difference" in 26 pages of small print.

Unsurprisingly, not many enter this competition.

That's exactly how it is - and not just banks, IME.

Furthermore, they are usually printed in pale green, on pale green paper, in the tiniest font.

I used to wonder if they try deliberately to discourage / prevent you from finding the truth, or whether they're actually not very bright people. I now realise it's both.

The ones I get only contain the changes and the original wording of the relevant sections. No need to play spot the difference. I know for most people it is still not as exciting as the news of some third rate celebrity shagging another third rate celebrity.

Update on this.

Posted these comments on moneysupermarket.com and was contacted by a nice fella from moneysupermarket who were running a story about this sort of thing in one of the national newspapers.

Anyway, moneysupermarket contacted the press office of MBNA and, I presume, told them what they're plans were. Had a call from MBNA today and they've agreed to a full refund of all the interest.

Happy now !
