need free support in IT? [Glasgow]

Jul 13, 2006 0 Replies

Hello,

I would like to offer you my volunteer work as an IT support/technician.

I am a last year Computer Engineering student at one of technical universities in Poland, and I am staying in Glasgow untill the end of September.

I would like to take advantage of the time spent here, but am not really interested in working as a cleaner, or kitchen staff, which are (I suppose) the only positions I could get staying here for only about

2 months, and having almost no professional experience.

I wish that, at the end of September, I had something to add to my CV (experience).

Here is something about me:

- I am a Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition 5.0

- I am also CompTIA® Security+? Certified Professional

skills:

- GNU/Linux operating system administration (security, samba, Apache, etc.)

- knowledge of Microsoft® operating systems family

- knowledge of Microsoft® Office and OpenOffice.org suite

- programming/scripting languages and technologies: x86 assembler, C/C++, Java, bash, Perl, Python, ASP, JSP, PHP, HTML, PL/SQL

- fast typing, c. 60 w.p.m.

others:

- clean driving license

- interested in Open Source operating systems and software, networking, data security and programming

- avid reader

- non-smoking

If you think, that your company could take advantage of my skills, and, in return, give me possibility to expand my skills and/or gain valuable experience, please do not hesitate to contact me at snipped-for-privacy@gmail.com. Any serious offers are welcome.

Kind regards, S.
