I'm currently looking into offshore banking. After looking at various banking websites it appears that in order to open an account you generally need atleast £5000 to start with.
Does anyone know of any offshore banks that do not require such a large ammount of money to open up an account?

That's to keep the riff-raff out. Another condition you overlooked in the small print is that hotmail account holders need not apply.
Mentioning that you have one probably goes down well when dropped casually into the conversation at the golf club dinner.
But it doesn't have to be true.
