Suppose the UK did not support the war in Iraq but chose diplomacy instead. Would it have been possible to negotiate with some of the ME states incl Iraq,Iran to sell crude in pounds together with setting up a new oil bourse in London? this in return for vetoing any UN sanctions,resolutions,etc. if not, why?
