Post Strike - Any Alternatives for getting urgent mail out?

Oct 05, 2007 7 Replies

Taxis or even motor bike couriers are very expensive. So am wondering if there are other more affordable alternatives with documents that need getting out and where faxing/emailing would not be acceptable. Usually large letter size and needing to go to various destinations around the country. One or two even needing to go overseas!!!

A cheesed off Ken trying to keep his small business going!

I know that Parcel2go.com have a special offer on - about £5 for UK packets. Depends on what you need though as they can be the Ryan air of courier services.

I don't know if any other company is doing a cheap deal during the strike.

Robert Who is happy to see that the postman delivered today.

DHL from your local Staples, if they are still doing it, is about £5 for a C4 envelope. There is also UPS from Mail Boxes etc, a bit more expensive. Alternatively, you may be able to get an account with DX Mail, possibly a lot cheaper. For foreign stuff, you could also look at Federal Express.

Thanks for the tips and from the other poster. I will be taking a look but hoping the Post Office position is soon resolved.

Long live the postal strike. The amount of unsolicited junk mail being delivered has fallen to zero.

And bills too.

Wouldn't life perhaps be a whole lot better without Royal Mail?

I don't mind the junk mail providing the other mail gets here for my business. Zero junk mail will also mean zero income to my business. Ken

I'm getting junk mail (UPS IIRC).
