Practise manager for busy Brighton-based solicitors office

Oct 04, 2003 6 Replies

Hi, I'm the boss. Martin Cray is a dynamic Brighton-based firm of solicitors. I am currently seeking a new practice manager. My current practice manager, Valerie, has been caught with her hand in the till and I will be getting rid of her at the end of the month. I need an attractive, preferably female, replacement, who is honest, trustworthy and prepared to work hard. If you have good Microsoft Office skills and a pleasant telephone manner and would like a starting salary of around 22k plus perks, fax your CV to Emma or Hannah on 01273 621715 to arrange an interview

Not sure how kosher the above is.

It's potentially libellous, and probably illegal.

Great ad for a firm of solicitors!

Very unlikely to be kosher. It's a real firm with a real website, but the fact that it's been sent from a hotmail address rather than the firm's address looks a bit sus. Probably someone with a grudge against poor old Valerie! I have forwarded this to the company to let them know that they are being defamed.

Yes, I had noticed the hotmail address too - hence my suspicion.

And it's posted from an Easyinternet Cafe!

The evidence is right there in the first word of the subject-line. The "boss" (and I think he would be more likely to call himself the "head") of a firm of solicitors would surely know the difference between "practise" and "practice", and would *never* make that error. He gets it right in the body of the message, though - probably accidentally.

Well, you could always mention your concerns to the chap below -
