I have an MS Loan Template (Excel) which I think I have kept from Office version 6. It's a bit rudimentary, but does allow some manipulation.

I can e-mail you a copy, if you wish (about 75kb in zip format).

I use the Loan Spread Calculator Pro from Wheatworks (US$29.95):

Your Brevity score is improving. Well done.

Dont forget to tell him about the annual rest method, and the quarterly system used by some banks.

You want your cake and eat it? You can't have monthly, quarterly, and annual rests *and* brevity.

I use a modified version of the 'loan calculator with extra payments' for this purpose.
