The sound of silence .....

The thing that made me strident here was the initial post which infered that prices were rising and that those pundits who have been prematurely negative about the market have been very quiet because of one months apparent averaged increase (a group to which I do not belong, though to whom I would like to join in due course if and when the evidence becomes more convincing). High property prices do not help my potential IHT position, nor the position of my adolescent daughter who is not yet on the housing ladder, but for whom I dare not yet assist financially. Do I take it that you take a keen professional interest in property values?

prices (as an average) *did* rise.

they are very quick to post *any* report of falling prices. Down to the level that they have even posted reports headlined 'falling prices' when the text of the report shows rising prices :-) I thought it would be amusing to post a report of rising prices.

I have a keen non-professional interest in debunking people who continue to post that the sky is falling, when it plainly isnt. Maybe it will one day.

BGB, there is something wrong with your posting, there are extra levels of indentation '>>' on each line. There shouldn't be any at all in front of your reply for example.

Where in what I said do you think I have an 'over optimistic outlook'? AFAICR the only comment I made was to say that 'the sky is not falling'. Is that 'over optimistic' to your way of thinking?
