I'm aware that until recently, Electron cards did not support 'Cardholder Not Present', and therefore were not able to be used online. However, apparently this has changed and Visa claim it can now be accepted anywhere that Visa is accepted (including online apparently).
I can't remember where I read this, but the chief of Visa UK stated that anywhere that accepts Visa, has the ability to accept Electron too - and that any merchants not accepting Electron are programming something into their own programs to stop it from accepting. His point was that he couldn't understand why they would go to the trouble of doing so.
So, my question is - has anyone tried using an Electron card to make a purchase, for example, from the USA online? As far as I can tell, this should be supported?
