What information needed for (experian) credit report?

Dec 04, 2004 1 Replies

I recently requested my credit file from experian who wrote asking me to complete a form which contained many questions that I consider to be intrusive.

Can I be asked to provide any of the following information?

? whether I have had an experian report before? If so, when? ? date of birth ? years/months at present address? (why can't I just say "over 6 years" ?) ? home telephone number - they are joking aren't they? how can they justify asking for my phone number? ? about your partner/spouse

Isn't this just a case of experian pretending to need information in order to harden up the details on their database?

Must be just experian. I sent the same request to another agency which replied immediately with my credit information.

I expect they would nned this to be sure they have the correct person, in case you have a commonly occuring surname.

You only need to include this if you have any shared financial commitments, like a joint bank account or joint loan.
