Just tried to apply for a credit limit but was told they cannot increase credit limits due to a business decision. This got me really confused since I have several thousand in savings with them, never exceeded any of my credit limits and pay the CC in full each month. Turns out it's nothing to do with me personally. Could this be related to the Santander takeover, or something else?

They've got a competition where you have a chance to win some money if you use their credit card. Each time you use it until the end of March your name goes into a metaphorical hat so the more times you use it the higher your chance of winning.
