I'm looking for a site that tracks exchange rates - especially the UK vs the Euro. Can anyone point me to such a site (preferably a free one)? Thank you.

Is that more authoritative or fine-grained than ECB?
Have a look. It is widely used for commercial and tax calculation purposes. The site is highly versatile and you can select just which rate of exchange (inter-bank, retail...) you want to use.
There are numerous sites about, but at tax time I rely on oanda because it provides averages as well as daily charts of historical rates between any two currencies I'm likely to be working with.
