wtc/ children at home

I am entitled to WTC, do i have to declare if a child is living at home and earning money? I can't see an option for it. Just for a partner. TIA

You have surely been asked whether or not you have dependant children, yes? If your child has left school (see the notes that come with the form for the exact criteria) then they are no longer dependant whether or not they own their own money.

If instead you are referring to a school aged child with a paper-round then they are still dependant and their income is their own.

What if they are like me, my eldest is 26 and earning his own wedge, but youngest is only 9 and so I would be eligible for WTC. I dont, as I earn to much but thats just the wife and I, I did not include my eldest in the calculation.

No. You don't need to declare childrens' earnings.

:) Trouble is, I WAS entitled to working tax credits AND child tax credits. The CTC ended last week, the day she took her last exam at school ( not end of term as I hoped) This was because she has chosen to take a year out before going to UNI and was not in further education of more than 12 hours. I notified the tax people and they said something about going to University I would be entitled to WTC. There are no forms to fill out, it is all done over the phone. Afterwards I thought about the fact she had a part time/possibly leading to full time job for at least a year and wondered if I should have declared it.

I can't see what her going to uni has to do with anything.

If you and your partner (if you have one) work at least 30 hours a week in total, your WTC will be unaffected by what your daughter does.

If you work less than 30 hours the WTC will stop when your entitlement to CTC stops, unless your are claiming any disability elements.

AIUI.
