Corporate Controller Job Description

A rapidly growing worldwide distributor in Van Nuys, CA has an immediate opening for a CORPORATE CONTROLLER to oversee all accounting functions for its 12 retail stores, a state of the art distribution center, national and international sales organizations, showrooms, and its website. With over 60,000 SKU's, the company leverages its technology to ensure product availability, timely delivery, and best in class service to its customers.

Job Description: The Corporate Controller will report directly to the CFO and will manage a staff of 9 personnel and all general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll functions. The Corporate Controller will be charged with establishing and maintaining policies, procedures, and controls to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. The Corporate Controller will interact with senior management, external auditors, consultants and third parties.

Duties:

-Manage the financial statement close process, including preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, maintenance of the company's general ledger and supporting records, and reconciliation of all accounts and subsidiary ledgers.

-Design and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard the company's assets and ensure that transactions are executed in accordance with company guidelines.

-Design and maintenance of controls over cash receipts and disbursements.

-Oversee various compliance reporting requirements.

-Assist in the maintenance of the 401K and Profit Sharing Plans.

-Assist CFO with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, transactional analysis, and the company's annual tax return.

-Assist Senior Management with special projects on an as needed basis.

Requirements:

-CPA - Actively licensed in the State of California. ***Absolute Must***

-Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.

-Minimum of 7 years of combined Public and Private Accounting experience with ideally 2 or more years of audit experience in a "Big

5" accounting firm.

-Solid foundation in inventory accounting within a distribution company, including an acute understanding of product costing, cycle counting, physical inventories, and reconciling the GL and perpetual inventory balances.

-Proficient in internal controls testing and documentation.

-Strong GL accounting and report writing experience.

-Experience with preparing a company for a financial statement audit

- a plus.
