1st credit card is slow

We have a customer experiencing very slow credit card authorizations for the

1st card of the day. After the swipe it can take serveral mins for the approval or it gets an error. All the credit card transactions following work fine. They use to reboot their register everyday. The register is also the SQLServer. I think I was able to isolated it to whenever the SQLServer services restart the problem also starts. As long as the SQLServer remains on overnight the
1st credit card of the day is fine. This occured using RMS 1.2 and RMS 2.0 with latest hotfixes. Also on MSDE200 and 2005 SQL Express. I purged the journals to only keep 2007 and beyond. Any ideas to resolve it?

The first credit card of the day is always slow for us too. I always assumed it due to lack of cached data.

We have also seen this issue with RMS 1.2 and 1.3.

I would guess it takes about 30 seconds for the first charge. One cashier estimated it at one minute, but it SEEMS long when you are just standing there waiting. I am also being told that it occurs for the first charge at each register, not just the first charge of the day. We are running RMS 2.0.0110 and 2005 SQL Express.

About 30 seconds here too. One other interesting thing, is that the store that this is happening on, the slowness only occurs on 1 register. The other register is unaffected.
