I noticed that when I open the administrator program, without connecting I can go to file and configeration...first is shows user name and * for the password. What will happen if I change this password, then try to log into administrator without the new password? Is being able to open the configeration menu a glitch? I would think you need to be logged in to open this menu?

The password is only to connect with MSDE/SQL Server.. if you change the password without change into server, you can't connect to database..
