Alias changes in HQ to stores?

Hi,

We've a customer who's just done a clean-up of their Aliases in their HQ database and in doing, removed a lot of them. An Update Items worksheet sent down to the stores doesn't remove the Alias in the local database. Any ideas?

Thanks! T.

This is a design problem in RMS HQ. If you change Alias, substitute, assembly component etc... and send a 250 to store it does not update the store. Doing a 260 worksheet wil changethis but it would screw up the local store cost, price and on hand quantity. So only way I know is procedural steps after all stores are shut for evening..

1- Go to HQ Manager and run Worksheet Style 501 "Request a Full Item Count" for all stores 2- after the Worksheet has been executed and you have had the tores comunicate thedata back to HQ go to HQ Manager ==> Wizard (in Maintenance mode) ==> Inventory Wizard and run task 190. Then adjust your HQ to match your store data in terms of availability. 3- Now run Worksheet 260 - this will replace the info at store to match info at HQ

You should make backup - and test this in a computer to make sure it works and you understand all the steps.

Thanks for that. Hopefully this is something that will change in version 3.0 (among other things). Was also thinking about clearing the Alias table in each store location then run a 250 updating all items. Not ideal, but it won't be a regular occurence.
