Bin Location change shortcut sought

The Inventory Wizard does not affect Bin Location (to my knowledge).

Is there another way to do this without laboriously going through each item individually?

Please CC me your reply.

Thanks.

The only 2 options I can think of would be to export all the Item fields into a CSV file then edit the BinLocation in Excel, then import the data back into RMS using the QSImport tool. The only issue with this is you will have to change all the SupplierID, CategoryID, DepartmentID to the names and not the numeric ID. Your other option would be to export just the Item.ID, ItemLookupCode into a CSV file add the BinLocation then re-Import using EMS'S SQL Import tool. This would be less dangerous than the first option but you have to purchase the Import tool for $65US

Either way you should always do a backup before.

Hi Larry,

We have written a module that allows mass manipulation of Item data. This tool enables you to retrieve data, manipulate it and feed it back in to RMS. Additionally this module also enables you to receive data from a supplier in an excel format and feed this straight into RMS on mass as a pose to item by item.

If you would like to email me I can put you in contact with your local RMSynergy Partner and they will be happy to discuss your requirements with you.

Kind Regards

These are fasteners ordered from one supplier. Each type has a different part number of course.

I was just wondering if I can have a generic item for all fasteners at the POS, instead of one for each type (we have a lot).

Is it indeed an argument for one number for all bolts, one for all nuts and one for all washers (cuts it down to three)?

I can average their costs and arrive a one price per fastener type.

Thanks for your thoughts.
