Buy Product A, get product B free

Our store is running a promotion next week, whereby if you purchase Product A you get Product B for free. Can RMS do this? I know it could be done if they were the same product. I thought about using a tag-along item but can't see how to set the Price to 0 for the tag along

Cheers

I would set it up this way:

Product A: regular price with tag-along of Product B Product B: regular price with tag-along of Product C Product C: non-inventory item, name of "Promotional Discount" (or something), price of -Product B (i.e. if B was regularly 9.99, set C's price to -9.99).

All three products would get added, but the customer would only end up paying for Product A.

Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated. The assembly function will work well and achieve what we want. Only problem I can see, is how do you delete an assembly? For the promotion, I'd make Product A's Assembly lookup equal to the barcode and this will work. But, once the promotion finishes, how would you get rid of the assembly so that it will let me put the barcode number back into product A.

Cheers

We offer a software add-on that will easily manage this for you.
