copy database to new store

Oct 24, 2006 5 Replies

We are opening another store and I would like to copy the existing database (items, cashiers, ect.) to the new stores computer but need to delete all the sales history and transactions. Can this be done? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Larry

Yes this can be done. You can take the back-up and restore / install the database in the new store RMS system.

You can also delete all sales transactions from the Admin.

If you have more than 1 store you should seriousely consider getting Microsoft HQ.

Any idea how much that costs? I may look into it but need to get this system going right away. The database backup from the existing store is almost 600 megs. Is there any way to make it small enough to get on a cd?

Thanks
