Country not showing up on POS screen

Sep 28, 2006 2 Replies

We process many international orders through online channels.

When we put the work order into POS, the country doesn't show up on the POS screen.

It is kinda hard to type the customers address into the USPS mail program without the country.

Please tell me there is something we can do that will make the country show up on the screen so we do not have to add several steps to our processing to find it.

(If Z-FIRM's Endicia add-in did International, this would not be an issue.)

Mickie you can use the CAPTION FIELDS in CUSTOMER. This information will be displayed in your HTML Bar in POS. You can use a CAPTION named COUNTRY. In the moment of create a customer remember you to fill this field. For your old customers, you can use SQL to make a copy to this new field.

With the help of Vergel from MS, I used the STATUS.HTM section in POS to display the customer's country, email and phone number (I wish I had a list of all the field names). I already had status.htm displaying the product name, price, qty, and item picture. Now it does ALL.

Unfortunately you cannot select and block copy from the html bar, so I made

3 custom POS buttons.

The address button opens an HTML page in the POS screen with JUST the NAME & ADDRESS of the customer. You CAN right click and "select all" then copy and paste into another application (in our case the USPS mail label program).

The email button just displays the email for copying, and the telephone button just the number..

My UPS and FEDEX grabs the address into their application, but there is no USPS application that will work with RMS International customers.....yet.

Thanks.
